“Unacceptable,” they say. That word always intrigued me when used by condescending politicians or other flatulent big wigs. It just oozes off their tongues with a certain hissing inflection on the third syllable. Maybe its a code word passed on by word of mouth among initiates in the candle-lit chambers of the lodges. The illuminated ones find your Catholic values “unacceptable.” There is another life that will never end. God help us to hold fast to the truth and always be “acceptable” to Him.
