Cherie Blair at Angelicum: More Women in the Curia

So, you’re married to the ex prime minister of England, and you’re Catholic, so now, at the invitation of what was once a great university, you get to tell the Roman Curia to emasculate itself. I can’t think of any other issue that liberal “Catholic” women talk about except their getting authority in the government of the Church. Even by some who haven’t gone so far as to push for women’s “ordination.” Power.  That’s where it’s at.  Never mind reformation of the spiritual life of all members of the Church, never mind evangelization, never mind promoting the holy Rosary, or the traditional liturgy, or Eucharistic adoration, or bringing Catholicism back into Catholic schools, power is what matters.  I don’t know anything about Mrs. Blair, nor do I care to, all I know is that it is pathetic, with so many urgent issues needing to be addressed, for a Pontifical Univeristy to be wasting time and money giving liberal Catholic women a platform to advocate ridiculous agendas.

CWN reports: ROME (CNS) — The Catholic Church would benefit from having more women in senior-level positions at the Vatican, Cherie Blair said during a conference on the church’s role in defending women’s rights.

“Just as diversity between and within the sexes enriches human life and strengthens our civil society, so, too, I believe would it strengthen the church if we could see more women in leadership roles within it,” she said.  You can read more here.
