Chicago Priest Who Had Rainbow Flag Burned Removed from Parish

A report has it that diocesan officials threatened to send him to St. Luke’s Institute for psychiatric evalution. In China they call it “re-education.” As of this morning we do not know where Father Kalchik is.

CNA, Ed Condon: The Archdiocese of Chicago has confirmed the temporary removal of the parish priest at the center of a controversy over the burning of a rainbow banner. According to the archdiocese, Fr. Paul Kalchik has “left willingly” from his Chicago parish “to receive pastoral care.” Report is here.
