Maybe we do need these studies, unbelievable as it sounds i've run into Catholics who believe that the church has flourished since Vatican 2. They are the like to run the parish crowd frequently.

Quite frankly I get tired of all these "studies" all the time, as if we need "scientific" types to use statistics to tell us things. Just open up almost any magazine today and what do you find but people telling you some "study" says this is good, another saying the same thing is bad. Remember the decades long debates about the merits( or demerits) or caffeine based on so called studies?

I like the old bumper sticker that says "God said it, I believe it, that settles it." I look at what the Church has to say about faith, that it's supernatural gift, and for me that is enough. I can't say it isn't a struggle sometimes to keep from sin, but scripture and tradition says that it is expected, as we are of a fallen race and in need of grace and perseverance. If only many who were in charge of Catholic Schools would see that things like neopaganism, Wicca, graphic sex education, radical feminism, evolution and the like, are mostly( if not wholly) condemned by the Church and her tradition than there wouldn't be any problems.

Who would have thought that in this time and place the Church would have one foot in the world and it's ever shifting opinions, blowing whichever direction the latest study seem to take it, and one foot in Tradition, a place with no wind and no change and no need for a bunch of Phd's and a "study".
