Georgetown Cedes to Rohm Emmanuel’s Objection to Holy Name Near Obama

White House Chief of Staff, Rohm Emmanuel, insisted successfully that Georgetown remove or cover-up IHS, Holy Name of Jesus emblem, which hangs behind the principal lectern for distinguished speakers.  What with all the talk about Notre Dame, how is it that Jesuit Georgetown slipped under the radar in its honoring of a virulent pro-abortion president with a speaker’s invitation? Surely, He is “a sign of contradiction,” long ago exiled from Georgetown.  Try back some twenty years ago, when the university’s president, Father Timothy Healy, S.J., forbade the invocation of the Blessed Trinity at the college’s public affairs.  Students and the Cardinal Newman Society are organizing protests.
