Linked with the previous session’s course on the Sacred Heart, this series continues and finishes our study of what St. John Eudes has called “Devotion to The Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary.” Br. Anthony focused on four major points: 1) the history of the devotion as testified to by the saints 2) the history of Portugal and its connection to the spread of this devotion 3) the apparitions at Fatima and the continuing messages to Sister Lucia, and 4) the essential connection between devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and that of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The lectures conclude with an analysis of the two devotions in terms of their prophetic importance for our times with special emphasis on their veiled presence in the Book of the Apocalypse of St. John. The importance of devotion to the Immaculate Heart in our day cannot be stressed enough. This was a major revelation of Our Lady of Fatima. She who revealed her Heart to the three shepherd children told them to tell the world that her Son was already too much offended by the sins of her children, adding these sobering maternal words: “Only I can save you now!” By Br.
