Lover of the Traditional Latin Mass, Jesuit Father Hugh Thwaites RIP at 95

Father Thwaites: “It seems to me that the Church of the future is going to consist solely of those families who have been faithful to the rosary. But there will be vast numbers of people whose families used to be Catholic.”

As did Father Feeney, Father Thwaites, himself an Anglican convert, had a habit of asking people if they were Catholic. If they said “No,” he would say: “But you would like to be, wouldn’t you?” I have been informed that the Jesuits did not have a Latin Requiem for Father Thwaites’ funeral, but the English Novus Ordo.
