New Carthusian Prior General a Fatima Scholar

The new Prior General of the Carthusians, Dom François Marie Velut, O. Carth., was once known as Frère Michel de la Sainte Trinité. That was when he was a member of the Abbe de Nantes’ religious community. He was a scholar of Fatima, and wrote three magisterial volumes on the apparitions and the subsequent history of Fatima.

With permission of the English-language publishers, we reprinted an article of his on The Third Secret of Fatima in our magazine and, subsequently, on our web site.

Various positions that Frère Michel took in those books — notably regarding the third secret, and the consecration of Russia — are still considered controversial. His research was scholarly and quite exhaustive.
