Any why not? Hesburgh was a sponsor for Planned Parenthood giving them the use of ND campus. Hesburgh supported Obama’s campaign. And, obviously, no one on the Board of Directors at ND seems the least bit troubled that Obama has appointed pro-abortion people to every office that would have influence with abortion access, legislation, and the funding thereof. Catholic Culture reports: “But as you leave here today, remember the lessons of Cardinal Bernardin, of Father Hesburgh, of movements for change both large and small. Remember that each of us, endowed with the dignity possessed by all children of God, has the grace to recognize ourselves in one another; to understand that we all seek the same love of family, the same fulfillment of a life well lived. Remember that in the end, in some way we are all fishermen. ”
We’re all fishermen? Dignity of children of God? Love of family? Abortion deprives the pre-born of life, and most tragically of supernatural life, although one wouldn’t expect the president to realize that.
