Paul Comtois of Québec

Andrew Cusak recently posted a brief, uplifting tribute to a great Catholic statesman: Paul Comtois of Québec. Lieutenant-gouverneur Comtois was a scandalously un-celebrated martyr for his love of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. No doubt, his lack of celebrity is due to the fact that his edifying death coincided with Québec’s Révolution tranquille.

Many years ago, our magazine ran a short article on this same hero. You can read that article, “A Modern Catholic Hero: Paul Comtois,” on our site.

May the honorable Paul Comptios be better known; may his example inflame us to greater love of the Blessed Sacrament; and may his prayers return Québec, and bring all America, to the Catholic Faith!
