Saint Abdon and Saint Sennen (250)

These were two Persian noblemen who were brought as captives to Rome by the Emperor Decius, whose purpose it was to keep the Catholic Faith from extending into Persia. Saint Abdon and Saint Sennen gloriously professed the Catholic Faith in the presence of the Emperor Decius. They were then brought into the great Roman amphitheater, where, before thousands of people, they were torn to pieces by wild beasts.
