Saint Beuno (630)

He was a Welsh saint, and an abbot. He founded several monasteries in Wales. The Society of Jesus in North Wales has a very noted house dedicated to his name. When Saint Beuno’s neice, Saint Winifred, was beheaded by Caradog of Hawarden for resisting his impure advances, Saint Beuno took her lifeless body and her head, wrapped them in his cloak and placed them at the foot of the altar while he said Mass. During the Mass, Saint Winifred’s head and body were reunited; she came to life once more. She later became a nun and is one of the greatest glories of Wales.
