Saint Timothy (97)

Saint Timothy was a disciple of Saint Paul. To him Saint Paul wrote two Epistles. Saint Timothy was the first Bishop of Ephesus, where Saint John the Evangelist died and where Our Lady visited, and where the Third Ecumenical Council of the Church took place. This was the Council that defended the Divine Maternity of Mary. Saint Timothy was stoned to death for defending Our Lady’s virginity and for attacking the Greek goddess, Diana of the Ephesians.
