Saint Vincent Mary Strambi (1824)

He was a valiant defender of the Catholic Faith against the enemies of the Church during and after the French Revolution, which occurred in 1789. Saint Vincent Mary Strambi offered his life for Pope Leo XII, in 1823, when the Holy Father was in danger of death. God accepted this offering, and Saint Vincent Mary Strambi died in 1824. Pope Leo XII did not die until 1829. Saint Vincent Mary Strambi was a Passionist, and wrote the life of Saint Paul of the Cross, the founder of the Passionist Order, who died in 1775.
