Savoring Reality

This paper was written for a Festschrift in honor of Dr. Robert Hickson. It was intended to be a loving tribute to my superior, teacher, mentor, and friend, Brother Francis Maluf, M.I.C.M.

“Wisdom is the most perfect knowledge of the most important truths in the right order of emphasis, accompanied by a total, permanent disposition to live accordingly.”

I think it should read,”Wisdom is the most perfect knowledge of the most important truths in the right order of emphasis, accompanied by a total, perfect disposition to live accordingly.”
Do correct me if you can prove otherwise. I was one of His life long students and every definition I heard from him burned into my memory. Still, I could have miswritten it initially.

  • GeneDe

I cannot prove otherwise; I simply “copied and pasted” from the piece that Brother wrote. I thought that little sentence said it all.

I wish that I had been able to meet Br. Francis, unfortunately I’d only been a Catholic for barely a year before he died

  • Jack: Thankfully, so much of Brother Francis’ work is preserved in the recorded lectures we have of him. That is providential.

I think you misunderstand me Brother, I wish I had known had known Br. Francis as a person, I already have a few recordings of his teaching
