String of Clergy Slayings in Africa in One Week of December

The first was in the Republic of Congo. Father Daniel Cizimya Nakamaga was killed by armed robbers on December 6. Then a nun, Sister Denise Kahambu, was killed as thugs raided a Trappist monastery nearby on December 8. CNA report is here. About the same time a seventy year-old French missionary, Father Louis Blondel, was killed by robbers in his home in Johannesburg. CNA has the news here. The next night, in Kenya, an Irish priest, Father Jeremiah Roche, who had served for forty-one years in that country, was slain in another robbery with a machete in his rectory.
