The Lion — Lamb

Print Email This Post

Eternal Care, all present God,
How gentle! How omnipotent!
You tend the flimsiness of sod,
While keeping firm the firmament.
You guard the floating of the ship,
You heap and hurl the stormy scope,
You are the danger of the trip
And yet you are the only hope.

We seek you in complexity,
The rainbow version of the sun.
As close to us as close can be.
And still we fail to put in one,
The roaring Lion of Israel
And Mary’s Lamb, Emmanuel.
