The Thursday, October 25 Chronicle Show

Christ Jesus be praised! At 7:30 P.M. on Thursday October 25, Boston’s WCVB TV (Channel 5) covered a controversy concerning Saint Benedict Center on their show, “Chronicle.” If curiosity from the show has brought you to our web site, thank you for coming! Please consider reviewing the following links in order to get a fuller picture of our side of the story:

Our Status in the Church — A fraudulent claim that the followers of Father Feeney are “not Catholic” went uncorrected in the program. Click on this link for a Catholic “reality check,” including a letter from a competent canon lawyer who knows whereof he speaks. (The canonist’s credentials are given here.)

Outside the Church there is No Salvation — Does the Church actually teach this doctrine? This link cites infallible sources, not liberal Jesuits.

About Our Founder, Father Leonard Feeney — The vicious portrayal of our founder did not present a true picture of the zealous priest whose love for God and man led him to great lengths in his defense of Catholic doctrine and his work for the salvation of souls.

Fatherfeeney.org is not associated with Father Feeney or the Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary — The Chronicle web page linked to this strange web site run by a non-Catholic racist who has nothing to do with our apostolate.

Books by or about Father Feeney — From our online bookstore.

About Brother Francis — Our ninety-four-year-old superior, a philosopher and poet from Lebanon.

About Our Prior, Brother André Marie — Who was interviewed for the program. See also Brother’s Blog.

In Response to the Southern Poverty Law Center — Many of the claims on the show were either directly or indirectly garnered from the SPLC’s two smear pieces on us. We wrote two replies to the most recent SPLC article, one shorter, one longer.

Mr. Paul Melanson and his claims — One of those interviewed by Chronicle was also featured in the SPLC article “Trouble in Paradise.” This is a section of our longer refutation of that article, dealing with Mr. Melanson’s contribution. His background with Saint Benedict Center (only vaguely alluded to in the program) is brought out clearly here.

Nick’s SPLC Information Page — We are not the only ones who have been defamed by the SPLC. This off-site source has links to numerous articles concerning the pro-homosexual, pro-abortion, and anti-Christian organization.

Are we anti-semitic, as Chronicle claimed? No! Read the testimony of Mr. Robert Cohen to find out more. See also On Anti-Semitism, by Father Denis Fahey, C.S.Sp.
