Venerable Solanus Casey To Be Beatified in November

There are three saints who were actually born in what would be, or later became, the United States: Mother Seton, Catherine Drexel, and Kateri Tekakwitha, the Iroquois virgin. And one Blessed, Sister Miriam Theresa Demjanovich from Bayonne, New Jersey. Father Solanus Casey, a Capuchin Franciscan, will be our second Blessed. There are many saints and blesseds, who labored in our land (including several scores of uncanonized martyrs) who were born in Europe I wrote a biography of Father Solanus for our website here.

CNA: Venerable Solanus Casey, an American-born Capuchin priest who died in 1957 known for his ability as a spiritual counselor, will be beatified at a Nov. 18 Mass in Detroit, the local archdiocese announced Tuesday. More on this here.
