An Encyclical on Homosexuality?

It’s not on the table. And that’s fine, because right now one would rightly be leery of what would be written, and by whom. In any event here is an article by David Carlin for The Catholic Thing website. Naive? Sure. But certainly aiming at the core of the abuse crisis in the Church.

The Catholic Thing, David Carlin: Apart from the grace of God, our most urgent need at the moment is a papal encyclical on homosexuality.  Failing that, the American Catholic bishops should issue a collective pastoral letter on homosexuality.  And failing that, individual American bishops should issue diocesan pastoral letters on homosexuality.
