In Defense of Rachel Dolezal

This is going to be a very short post. I want to come to the defense of Rachel Dolezal. She’s getting a lot of bad press now because she is a white woman of German and Czech ancestry who says, “I identify as black,” and who called an African-American man her father when he is biologically not so, and who became the president of a local chapter of the NAACP, having deceived people about her non-African status.

I have one question for all you objectors out there (and you know who you are): So what’s wrong with all that?

If Bruce Jenner can become Caitlyn Jenner, calling himself a woman, why can’t a midwestern white girl call herself black? After all…

“I was drawing self-portraits with the brown crayon instead of the peach crayon, and black curly hair,” she told Lauer.

See? She identifies as black, therefore she is so. Bruce identifies as a woman, therefore he is one. Case closed.

Just because she clearly identified as white at other times of her life does not mean that she cannot now identify as black. Bruce identified as a male, and now he identifies as a female. Nobody can question that.

Oh, I see how it is… transgenderism is OK, but transracialism is not?

Rank hypocrisy!

I can be what I want to be, and if you call me a liar, you are a bigot!

Which is why next week, I’m going to identify as Rachel Dolezal, so that I can have fifteen minutes of fame, too.
