Ireland: Priest Gets Punished For Telling Catholics Who Voted Pro-Abortion to Go to Confession

Actually, when you read the words this good priest said you wonder where the fire is. If a Catholic voted to repeal the pro-life 8th Amendment they should, obviously, do more than “consider” going to confession. They MUST go to confession. Nor does this priest make sense when he says “if they knew” they were voting for abortion they should confess. Of course they KNEW they were voting for abortion. That was what the referendum was all about! This “niceness” is nauseating.

LifeNews, Steven Ertelt: “[Father James E. Larkin] What I would say to a Catholic who voted yes is this: if you voted yes knowing and intending that abortion would be the outcome, then you should consider coming to confession, where you would be received with the same compassion that is shown to any other penitent.”

When asked if he considered a yes vote a sin, he replied: “If they knew and intended abortion as the outcome, yes I believe so.” Article is here.
