Not Enough Room for Religious Aspirants in Holy Land

If ever I have seen encouraging news that is tragic at the same time it is this. Young men who seek to enter the Latin Rite seminary are sent home because of lack of space. Such a situation should be of prime concern for the universal Church, especially in Rome.  If the Faith is to survive in the mid-east these young men are our reasons for hope — and there is no one to sponsor them.  There must be an answer.  .- The Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, Archbishop Fouad Twal, said this week the seminary in the patriarchate of the Holy Land “is rich in vocations but poor in resources,” and that “expansion is needed so that the young people who knock on its door are not turned away.”  Full article here.
