Please Pray for Two Deceased Founding Members of SBC/MICM

We have just arrived home from the funeral of Sister Gemma, M.I.C.M., one of the founding members of the Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and a Sister at Saint Ann’s House in Harvard, Massachusetts. Sister Gemma was predeceased by a mere two days by Sister Mary Lucy, M.I.C.M., also a founding member and a religious of Saint Ann’s House.

These two Sisters made the heroic sacrifices that other founding members of our Order made, receiving the opprobrium of the world for their doctrinal stance, and for the painful sacrifices that they made. Our generation of MICM’s owes its existence and sense of purpose to these brave pioneers.

Please join our community in Richmond, New Hampshire in keeping Sister Cecilia, M.I.C.M. (Superior) and all the Sisters of Saint Benedict Center, Saint Ann’s House, in your prayers during their time of grief. Please also pray for the deceased, both of whom would resent being presumed not to need prayers.
