Pope Asks Faithful to Pray the Rosary, the Saint Michael Prayer, the Sub Tuum Praesidium Every Day in October

The Sub Tuum Praesidium is the most ancient of all Marian Hymns, dating back to the fourth century. It addresses Our Lady as Mother of God (Theotokos) a century before the definition of the same at the Council of Ephesus.

In English it reads:

We fly to Thy protection / O Holy Mother of God; / Do not despise our petitions in our necessities / but deliver us always from all dangers / O Glorious and Blessed Virgin. Amen
