He was an Italian Capuchin, born at Brindisi in Italy. He died at Lisbon in Portugal. He converted thousands of heretics back to the Catholic Faith. He made countless thousands of sinners do penance and amend their lives. He was a brilliant, simple and childlike preacher. Pope John XXIII made him a Doctor of the Church on the feast of Saint Joseph, March 19, 1959.
