In the post, “The Status of Father Feeney’s Doctrinal Position,” I stated that the Sisters of Saint Ann’s House do not have a website. That has changed. The good Sisters now have a site here: Sisters of Saint Benedict Center, Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
Curious inquiries sometimes come our way about how the Slaves came to be several autonomous houses. It is no secret that there were divisions. In the last several years, though, a growing spirit of cooperation, mutual assistance, and evangelical charity has flourished among the various houses. In this regard, I bring to the readers’ attention the following, on the Saint Ann’s House history page:
Differences in governing appeared in the community after Sister Catherine’s death, and ultimately most of the Brothers became Benedictine and most of the Sisters reorganized as the Sisters of Saint Benedict Center, Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Eventually, four other communities of Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary were formed — one each in New Hampshire, Ohio and California, and a second one in Massachusetts. All of these communities are committed to defending the Church’s doctrines and promoting the Faith through publishing and teaching.
I am grateful for this kind mention of the various groups, focusing on our common goals and purpose. The spirit which inspired it is something my own community hopes will continue to grow and bear much fruit for Our Lord.
