He was the founder of the Passionist Order, which has done so much to revive in the hearts of all true Catholics a love for the sorrows of Jesus upon the Cross. Two other members of his Order have already been canonized as saints. They are: Saint Vincent Mary Strambi, who died in 1824, and Saint Gabriel of the Most Sorrowful Virgin, who died in 1862. Saint Vincent Mary Strambi wrote the life of Saint Paul of the Cross.
