WNDaily: A Texas mother and pro-life activists are fighting a Houston hospital in court after the facility cited a state law in its decision to refuse treatment for a 46-year-old man, despite the patient’s wishes and those of his family.
Houston Methodist Hospital is standing behind the decision of an administrative panel that ruled it was best to remove life-sustaining care for Chris Dunn, a former sheriff’s deputy who also worked for the Department of Homeland Security. He did not have insurance at the time of his health crisis. The hospital’s decision is final, according to the Texas Advanced Directive Act, which has been on the books since 1999. More here.
