After The Shower

After the shower I went abroad:
All the wells in the world were full;
Lightning elapsed in the goldenrod,
Thunder subsided inside the bull.
Worms were soaking above the sod;
Lambs regamboled and birds resang.
God flung a violet boomerang,
Arched the ocean from coast to cape,
And, oh, it was gorgeous again to gape
At Hope set up in a horse-shoe shape!
