From Hole…to Home

Why have the Sisters dug ourselves a hole? What’s going on out here?

Haven’t you heard that we were forced to evacuate our convent in July of 2024? It was mold. Bad mold. We are not exactly homeless — we have been living in our own guest quarters, squeezing multiple Sisters into single rooms. Being without a convent means we are deprived of the sacred solitude so necessary in Religious life.

It has been two years the beginning of our housing crisis, years in which fundraising for a new home has seriously curtailed many of our other duties.

Thanks to hundreds of generous donors around the country, we have raised over $850,000—enough for the completion of half of our new convent. Hutter Construction Company is making fast progress on Phase One of the project, Deo gratias.

But we only have enough for Phase One. Our need for many thousands of dollars is quite intimidating. If we have to pause the project for another two years of fundraising, the price will only increase!

You can help! Your gift, no matter how small, will ensure that the Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary have a permanent base from which to continue our apostolate to defend and spread the One True Faith throughout these United States. Please help us turn our big hole into a beautiful home!

Our website, SaintPhilomenaConvent.org, gives an excellent overview of our situation. It provides an easy way to make donations with no hassle at all. We would dearly appreciate it, too, if you could reach out to your friends and family on our behalf.

Thank you so much!

May God and Our Lady and St. Joseph bless you!
