At Professor Robert Hickson’s Funeral

It was my honor to drive down to Dillwyn, Virgina, for the funeral of my late friend, Dr. Robert Hickson.

After a solemn pontifical Requiem Mass in the traditional rite, a twenty-one gun salute, taps, and other military honors were fittingly paid to the memory of this Green Beret captain and Vietnam veteran who was also an accomplished academic. May God rest his soul, and may Our Lady of Sorrows console Dr. Maike Hickson, his grieving widow, their beautiful children and the rest of Robert’s family.
