Ninety four years ago today — the Feast of Saint Vincent de Paul, July 19, 1913 — Brother Francis (Fakhri Maluf) was born in a small village near Beirut, Lebanon. Because he did not breathe right away, the Catholic midwife baptized him in an emergency baptism. Today, then, is Brother Francis’ “rebirth” day just as much as it is his birthday.
The Roman Pontiff gloriously reigning in those days was Pope St. Pius X.
Please join us in praying for Brother Francis, and in thanking God for Brother Francis’ longevity and fidelity. He is an encouragement and inspiration to us all.
