Cardinal Pell to Speak at Festival of “Dangerous” Ideas

I did a double-take when I saw this headline.  Spokepersons for various ideologies, movements, and religions will give their spiel, including Christopher Hitchins, atheist provocateur.  From the excerpts posted of Pell’s address, his presentation sounds like it is going to be very good.  God bless him.  Kind of like St. Paul at the Areopagus, considering the state we are in today in the realm of fanciful ideas and itchy ears.  An interesting clip is provided about one of the speakers, Baroness Susan Greenfield, who “will argue that online networking may be rewiring children’s brains and eliminating human traits like empathy and compassion.” Of course we already know that, but it’s good to see a Baroness take up the cause.  What have we done to our children by giving them TVs and PCs!!!  A generation “Without affection, without peace, slanderers, incontinent, unmerciful, without kindness, . . . ” (2 Tim. 3:3)

Here’s the story from CNA.
