Ecclesia Dei Now Under Congregation for the Doctrine of Faith

It’s now official, what had previously been suspected.  What is interesting is that this move demonstrates that the primary issue the Vatican has with the SSPX is “doctrinal.”  And what stand will the Society take on the fundamental dogma, extra Ecclesiam nulla salus?  Will it commit to a watered down interpretation of the defined dogma?  Or, will it insist on its literal understanding?  Knowing what the Society’s theologians teach concerning the dogma, I see no reason to hope for the latter.  But, at least the doctrine will once again be in the limelight, for it will always live even when those commissioned to proclaim it fail to do so.
