Yesterday, J.D. Vance struck a nerve in his response to CBS host Margaret Brennan’s questions about Trump immigration policies and opposition to those policies by the USCCB.
The interview on CBS’s “Face the Nation” (embedded below in its entirety) was Vance’s first interview since taking office.
Here is the clip featuring Vance’s comments about the USCCB:

Catholic Charities are now openly coaching illegal immigrants on how to evade ICE, dodge questions, and exploit the system.

Whether the account of “Shadow of Ezra,” above, is that of a Catholic we do not know, but Catholics were posting their opposition on X to this Catholic Charities lawyer in response.
Complicit Clergy is publishing a lot about this subject, and LifeSiteNews has carried a related piece on the subject with the headline, “There are 2.9 billion reasons why the US bishops loved Biden but hate Trump.”
Complicit Clergy has set up a form on their site to “urge Catholics to contact their bishops and respectfully demand that all Catholic charitable organizations immediately terminate their involvement in the invasion of our nation.”
It is important to note that neither the USCCB nor Catholic Charities is an organ of the magisterium of the Catholic Church. Their policies are not per se Catholic doctrine, thought hey ought to reflect that doctrine.
