I give thanks for the grace of being present when the Holy Father declared my patron, Brother André Bessette, CSC, to be a Saint. It happened in St. Peter’s Square this very morning. Thanks to the good graces of a priest-friend, who works for the Holy See, our brothers had seats very close to the Vicar of Christ during this solemn occasion. Also declared Saints today were Fr. Stanislaw Soltys, Sr. Candida Maria de Jesus Cipitria Y Barriola, Sr. Mary Of The Cross (Mary MacKillop), Sr. Giulia Salzano and Sr. Battista Camilla da Varano. The Holy Father called the occasion a “feast of holiness.” CNA has coverage of the event.
