We are saddened by the news that Joe Sobran has died. Mr. Sobran was an eloquent writer and gifted thinker whom we were privileged to have speak at one of our Saint Benedict Center conferences. I was informed by a mutual acquaintance that Joe died yesterday at 3:00, the hour of mercy. Dr. David Allen White writes here — while Joe was still very sick — of the effort of a Catholic friend to bring a priest to the dying man’s side. Dr. White’s comments are worth reading.
