If you hear any politician use the phrase “freedom of worship” (President Obama and Hilary Clinton are pointedly using it) understand that what this means is no freedom of religion outside church walls. The attack on Christianity in the West is more subtle than in the East but just as deafening.
A true understanding of religious freedom which includes Christians in public life is the corrective for both the “subtle” discrimination facing European Christians and the open intolerance for Christianity elsewhere, an Italian religion expert said.
