Obama’s Scandals

Concerning the recent avalanche of scandal for the Obama White House, Politico ran a story with this unbelievable sentence: “Top GOP sources acknowledge that it’s highly unlikely the White House was directly involved in the IRS mess, but the probe is sure to add to the Republican-spun narrative of Democratic, Big Government overreach.”

Can anyone really deny that there is Big Government overreach here? The IRS is probing conservative non-profits, while Eric Holder’s DOJ is interfering with the free press by demanding AP reporters’ phone records. On top of Benghazi, the cumulative effect of this is making for a bad week for the most pro-abortion president in American history. It could not happen to a nicer guy.

As Senator Rand Paul said (see video, below), the President is “drunk on power.”

Considering Obama’s vicious attacks on the freedom of Holy Mother Church, accompanied with generous doses of lies and disingenuous presidential smiles directed towards high-level churchmen, is it really inappropriate for the faithful to enjoy a bit of Schadenfreude over this? I think not. At least not as long as we carry the hope that his present misfortunes will lead to a conversion.

Qui mange du pape en meurt, the French say (“He who tries to eat the pope, dies of it”). Perhaps the President is suffering a bit of papal indigestion this week. May he find the right remedy.
