Portugal’s President Signs Same Sex “Marriage” into Law

Four days after Holy Father’s visit to his country Portugal’s president says Assembly would’ve over-rid his veto anyway.

Wikipedia: Same-sex marriage in Portugal was legalized on May 17, 2010, when President Aníbal Cavaco Silva ratified a bill sponsored by the Socialist government of Prime Minister José Sócrates and passed by the Assembly of the Republic in February 2010. The bill had been declared legally valid by the Portuguese Constitutional Court in April 2010. Portugal is the sixth country in Europe and the eighth country overall to allow same-sex marriage.
