Are we watching someone in the process of conversion? Maybe. She’s still an atheist, but Marguerite Stern has apologized for her topless desecration of Notre Dame Cathedral. The former FEMEN activist has become “socially conservative,” after realizing that the “woke” agenda, in pushing the “transgender” movement, “does not create but destroys.”
She remains an atheist, but maybe not for long. That someone with such a dark and hateful ideology can change is a reminder that not even the Church’s most implacable enemies will necessarily remain so. Offer an Ave for Marguerite Stern if you will.
(Solène Tadié/National Catholic Register) — The intellectual evolution of emblematic radical feminist Marguerite Stern, spectacular in more ways than one, is a mystery to many commentators.
In February 2013, she burst, topless, into the iconic Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, to celebrate, along with other feminist activists, the resignation of Benedict XVI and howl her hatred of the Church.
Less than a decade later, Stern has become a leading figure in the fight against the excesses of the so-called “woke movements,” in particular transgender ideology.
