She is called “the Mary of the Gael.” She was so beautiful that many thought she might be the Blessed Virgin in an apparation. She was the spiritual daughter of St. Patrick. She died at the age of seventy-two, the same age at which Our Lady died. Saint Bridget of Kildare is buried in the same grave with Saint Patrick and Saint Columbkille.
