Saint Fabiola (400 A.D.)

She was a noble Roman woman. Her life was at first very worldly. But after becoming a widow and performing public penance, she gave all her wealth for the care of the Catholic sick in a hospital in Rome. She was a great friend of Saint Jerome’s. Her wish was to become a nun at Bethlehem, but need for her kept her in Rome. Crowds and crowds of admiring Catholic believers attended her funeral when she died.
