In preparing myself to interview Joshua Charles, of Eternal Christendom, I have been reading and listening to some of his work. This included a lengthy scroll through his X feed. In the process, I came up with ten “charitable takedowns” that he posted which I think are good examples of how to heed Saint Paul’s admonition to do the truth in charity (cf. Eph. 4:15).
Our readers may find them educational and edifying.
At the end, there is a special treat: the author of these postings playing the incredibly difficult Rachmaninoff Third Piano Concerto.
So Adam and Eve were gods before they fell? https://t.co/tLvwX76geM

It is always interesting to hear this objection, because growing up as a protestant, I heard people say ALL THE TIME that those Christians who had died were now more alive than ever because they were with Christ (as Scripture says), and often describe what they think they are… https://t.co/Nhuz5orgM9

So your objection is that the testimony of men who knew the Apostles, like St. Ignatius of Antioch, and St. Pope Clement of Rome, played a role in my understanding the Bible?
Okay. https://t.co/h5InH884gV

Irrelevant. A system doesn’t “work” because everyone under it submits. That’s not the measure of truth.
If that was the case, Christ’s authority itself was “broken” because Judas didn’t submit to Him, and all the other Apostles (excluding St. John) fled.
It would mean the… https://t.co/5OJOcXB7OR

I used to be sure of this as well.
Then I read the writings of the disciples of the Apostles. They quickly disabused me of this falsehood.

Conveniently leaves out true eschatology, namely Catholic.
To me, it does not seem coincidental that the nations with the biggest nuclear arsenals are historically rooted in schism (Russia) and heresy (America) against the Catholic Church.
Worth pondering. https://t.co/lcL9hVhphy

Catholics don’t ask dead people to pray for us. The people we ask to pray for us are very much alive. https://t.co/L9EUh9Qdkc

Thank you for the argument for me to think about!
In return, I’ll give you a Quote Archive full of the words of the Church Fathers who “brainwashed” me, all cited to original sources.
I hope you find it edifying and thought-provoking.https://t.co/1yW5u5cY4c https://t.co/HKrY2SruGb

That has never been Christian belief (about altars).
The Church Fathers UNANIMOUSLY refute this position. St. Paul himself says “We have an altar…” (Heb. 13:10). Malachi 1:11, constantly cited by the Fathers, prophesies a coming pure sacrifice that would be offered throughout… https://t.co/tRfrdPQskP
