It is on my mind, dear Skirt, to express to you my gratitude and appreciation. You do your work of clothing Body so well — always smoothing over any little awkwardness so tactfully. Perhaps it is by deflecting attention from Body, who, through no fault of her own, is the less noble aspect of Woman, that you effectively draw attention to Woman’s deeper beauties: her mind, soul, and personality. You (and your sister Blouse) are forever leading Woman to shine with the same loveliness as Lady.
Yes, my friend, I am aware of the impostors who are called by your name and who drag it through the mud, (though, ironically enough, they keep a good distance clear of the stuff themselves). I wouldn’t worry about them. People can tell the difference. You have always been generous and gracious, while these others are notably stingy — real tightwads, you might say.
Then there are other articles of clothing that are of the mind that all the facts should be laid out unapologetically. I’m so glad you understand, Skirt, that there is such a thing as too much information. It is rather hard on the eyes, and the soul, to be constantly bombarded by so many unnecessary, unwanted details. I think people are starting to tire of the information overload and the troubles it leads to. More people seem to be recognizing and appreciating the beautiful truths which you express so eloquently, even without uttering a word.
Thank you for encouraging Woman to be herself. Don’t tell Pants, but I can’t help thinking he has never really understood Woman, and consequently has a terrible time guiding her to move and act with freedom. Anyway, I thought you’d be happy to hear that someone noticed and was grateful for all the benefits and advantages you are bestowing. Thank you very much, Skirt!
