Dave Reilly interviewed me for his podcast, The Backlash on Rumble. The video is set to premiere at 6:00 PM EST today. Below the embedded video — which will go live at that time — is Dave’s write-up of what we discussed.
Brother André Marie, superior of the Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Richmond, New Hampshire, joins Dave Reilly for Episode 165 of The Backlash.
Why have traditional Catholics repeatedly found themselves targeted by modernist church officials, the Southern Poverty Law Center and even the federal government? Brother André recounts how his small religious community was included among the SPLC’s so-called “Dirty Dozen” and discusses the FBI’s attempt to cultivate sources inside traditional Latin Mass communities.
The conversation then turns to the deeper reason traditional Catholicism threatens the modern order: the doctrine of Christ the King and the Church’s demand that every part of society—not merely private life—be brought under the reign of Jesus Christ.
Dave and Brother André also explore the proper Catholic understanding of patriotism and nationalism, the Spanish Carlist model of Christian social order, subsidiarity, localism and the restoration of genuine community. As federal politics becomes increasingly hopeless and centralized technology gives the modern state unprecedented power, Catholics must strengthen their families, parishes, farms, businesses and relationships with their neighbors.
Finally, Brother André explains why authentic Christian masculinity is rooted in sacrifice rather than vanity, what Catholic men can learn from Blessed Karl of Austria, and what the prophecies of Venerable Bartholomew Holzhauser suggest about the future restoration of Christendom, the conversion of Russia and the eventual coming of Antichrist.
