Volunteer Farm in the Blue Ridge Mountains Feeding the Hungry

In its seventh year of operation 10,000 volunteers have spent time planting, cultivating, storing, and distributing crops to warehouses where soup kitchens and food pantries can access the goods. Hunger is a real problem in the United States and so is junk food. This project is doing what it can to feed the poor with healthy food.

Catholic Online reports: Hunger is still very much a problem in the United States as it is in other parts of the world. According to “Hunger in America 2010,” ten million American households report that they do not always know where they will find their next meal. Read more here.
