Brother Francis and The Richmond 250 Cane

Something that the town of Richmond, New Hampshire has that many other towns don’t is an old-fashioned annual town meeting. Another thing Richmond has is a town cane. It was given to the town on the two hundred fiftieth anniversary of the town’s founding, thus the name: “The Richmond 250 Cane”. It is passed on from year to year at the town meeting and is presented to the oldest citizen. Brother Francis, 95 years of age, received it this year. The certificate bears his Lebanese name, Fakhri Maluf. Here are a number of pictures:
