28 Years in China’s Prisons, Courageous Bishop Yao Liang Dies at 87

A little late, but I should have posted this news a few days ago. When Catholic heroes die it should be headlined in every Catholic paper and on every website.

New York Times, BEIJING — Leon Yao Liang, a Roman Catholic bishop who spent 28 years in Chinese prisons during Mao’s rule for his refusal to renounce his allegiance to the Vatican, died on Dec. 30 in Xiwanzi, a town in north China’s Hebei Province. Read full article here.
